NH Maker Fest

Join us at the 13th annual New Hampshire Maker Fest, an all ages celebration of creativity and innovation taking place in and around the Children's Museum of New Hampshire in downtown Dover. From engineers to artists, to scientists, to chefs, the NH Maker Fest is a day for these "Makers" to show hobbies, experiments, projects, and for all of us to discover something new! It's a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness.

The Fest takes place inside the Children's Museum of NH and outside in the park and even on the stage. Because we need to make room for all the Makers, some of the museum exhibits won't be accessible as usual. This is not a normal day of play at the museum, which is why you can't reserve tickets for normal play sessions. The Fest is family friendly, and admission is a suggested $5/person donation. You can reserve tickets here online, or donate when you arrive. We thank our generous sponsors for helping us keep this an "entry by donation" event.

Question: "So if I want to come play in the museum, I can't on this day?"
Answer: If you are looking to access ALL of our exhibits, then today isn't the best day to visit. However, some exhibits where we don't have Makers set up will be accessible. Some of these exhibits may include: Primary Place, Pattern Palace, and Cave Explorers on the 2nd floor of the museum.

Question: "I'm a Museum (or ACM/ASTC) Member. Can I visit the Fest for free?"
Answer: It's up to you! Entry into the Fest is by a suggested $5 for everyone, so it's totally up to you.

CMNH Admission

Visitors to the Children's Museum of New Hampshire must reserve their spots prior to their visit; please reserve for the exact number of people visiting the museum.

If you are unable to select a specific date/time that means tickets are SOLD OUT for that session. If you are unable to enter your desired number of tickets, that means there are not enough tickets available for that date/time to complete your requested order.

CMNH Members, please use the register/sign-in buttons at the top right of this page to receive your free admission! When creating an account, use the same name and email you used when you signed up for a membership. Once you’ve signed in, you will be able to select your ticket types (not w/discount tickets); the total will be zeroed out when you view your cart.

If you need to apply any sort of discount (including CMNH admission passes or reciprocal benefits from a participating ACM or ASTC organization) to your admission and you do not have a discount code, please choose the 'Adult/Child w/discount will pay at the door' ticket options. When you arrive for your play session, we will ask for proof of your discount and take payment. If you do have a discount code, please select the full price ticket types (not w/discount tickets). On the next page, you will be able to enter your code and the discount will be applied to your order.

Exploring Our Way

For some children with autism spectrum or sensory processing disorders, a visit to museums like ours is challenging or over-stimulating. The Exploring Our Way: Sensory Friendly Playtimes are low-sensory events designed for children with autism spectrum or sensory processing disorders, and allows them to explore the Museum along with their families without the noise, crowds, and stimulation of a typical open day.

The museum is closed to the public during Exploring Our Way. We limit the number of families who can attend, turn down sounds and lights, provide a quiet zone with sensory activities away from the exhibit floor and have noise cancelling headphones to borrow. A medical diagnosis is not required. Online reservations are required, but is FREE for families coming for Exploring Our Way.

Please reserve for the exact number of people visiting (in other words, don't just reserve one spot for yourself.)

Summer Library Program

Imagine, Build... PLAY! with CMNH
