For some children with autism spectrum or sensory processing disorders, a visit to museums like ours is challenging or over-stimulating. The Exploring Our Way: Sensory Friendly Playtimes are low-sensory events designed for children with autism spectrum or sensory processing disorders, and allows them to explore the Museum along with their families without the noise, crowds, and stimulation of a typical open day.

While the museum is open (with regular admission) to the public during this Exploring Our Way, we limit the number of families who can attend, turn down sounds and lights, provide a quiet zone with sensory activities away from the exhibit floor and have noise cancelling headphones to borrow. A medical diagnosis is not required. Online pre-registration is required, but is FREE for families coming for Exploring Our Way.

Please choose the appropriate price types below, and reserve for the exact number of people visiting (in other words, don't just reserve one spot for yourself. We use these reservations to help with our capacity limits). We are only allowing 75 individuals to visit the museum during this play session.
